A bit about my fitness roots…

Welcome! My name is Kaley! I am the owner and one of the many trainers here at Functional Roots. I am a wife, mom of three, registered nurse, and certified personal trainer. Fitness has been a passion of mine for many years! Over the years, my relationship with fitness and nutrition has be all over the place. I have always enjoyed fitness, running in particular, but I have also had an unhealthy relationship with fitness and food in the past. I went through a phase in life where I used fitness as an “out” through hard times and saw food as something I needed to avoid. But over the past 10 years, I have really honed in on what functional fitness and adequate nutrition can do for my body AND my confidence! Fitness can be hard, but it can also be fun and very rewarding! If done right, and with the proper nutrition, you will be amazed at what your body can do! Food should be seen as fuel for our bodies. And I am here to tell you that success in fitness must come with healthy nutrition. I also know that time is a thief these days…and making time for yourself can be so hard! But it needs to be a priority. If you use your busy life, or your kids, as an excuse for not making time for yourself… you have it all wrong. Your kids and loved ones should be your REASON for wanting to live a healthy lifestyle. You have to make time for yourself in order to fully be there for others. This is what drives me and I am here to help you find that same passion! Build that healthy lifestyle - for YOU and your family! Let’s do this together!
